We had a fantastic turnout at our December camp with lots of great music, talented guard members gracing the floor and a couple of pretty big announcements, including a sneak peek at RCR’s new uniforms (stay tuned for the public reveal, coming soon!) and our 2017 Drum Majors, Michael St. Ores and Peyton Grunzke!
Michael St.Ores is a second year Drum Major of River City Rhythm, and is originally from Rosemount, Minnesota, where he attended high school and was Drum Major of the Rosemount High School Band Program (Marching Band) his senior year. He is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as a freshman, and is in the process of deciding his major. Michael was a trumpet player in the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Marching Band, and continues to participate in multiple instrumental music ensembles at the University. He is thrilled to be joining RCR for another life-changing season, and cannot wait to work with Peyton to bring the corps to a new level throughout the summer of 2017.
Peyton Grunzke is currently a Music Education student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She graduated from Waseca High School in 2016 after serving two years as Drum Major of the Waseca Marching Jays. She just finished her first season marching with the Blugold Marching Band and continues to keep herself busy with other music ensembles at UWEC. Peyton is looking forward to working hard, forming new relationships, and making beautiful music this summer at RCR!
We’re very excited to have both Michael and Peyton leading the corps this season and we hope that you’ll join us on the field for the 2017 season!
