Sam Peck, a Minnesota native, started playing percussion at nine years old, and graduated from Irondale High School in 2006, where he was in marching band and winter drumline all four years, mostly on tenors. When he was a junior, he performed with the Bands of America Honor Band at the 2005 Rose Parade.
Upon graduating, he has had the opportunity to perform with ensembles across the country. In 2006, he performed with Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps, and aged out in 2009 with Spirit of JSU. He has also performed with Minnesota Brass, Inc. for four years (2007, 2008, 2011, 2012). He performed with Minnesota Brass Indoor in 2008 and performed with Music City Mystique during the 2009 and 2010 seasons, the latter being his age out. He recently finished a four year tour with the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Marine Musician.
Sam has taught private lessons and at many different high schools throughout Minnesota, including Henry Sibley, Eden Prairie, River Valley Percussion Theatre, Buffalo, Irondale, and Eastview. He also served as the tenor tech at Minnesota Brass Indoor during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. He is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education at Anoka Ramsey Community College.
