Corps Director / Drumline Front Ensemble Designer/Arranger/Instructor

RCR Corps Director Bojan HooverBojan Hoover is a founding staff member of River City Rhythm Drum and Bugle Corps and has been involved as an instructor and designer for River City Rhythm Drumline since its inception. A Minnesota native, Bojan is an active music educator, freelance musician, and composer for marching bands, drum corps, drumlines, and visual media. In addition to his responsibilities with River City Rhythm, he is also a band director at Rosemount High School in Rosemount, MN, where he co-directs the largest band program in the state with over 450 students actively participating in a curricular band class.

Since 2010, Bojan has been the front ensemble coordinator and arranger for the River City Rhythm Drumline where he helped the ensemble achieve seven consecutive WGI Finalist appearances, four consecutive WGI fan-favorite awards, and a 2016 WGI Bronze Medal in the Percussion Independent Open Class. During the 2015 and 2016 seasons, Bojan served as Percussion Caption Head for the RCR Drum and Bugle Corps, and helped the group make two DCI Open Class Finalist appearances during their first two years of existence.

Bojan brings to his new position as Corps Director a wealth of experience and proven record of success as a band director. Under Bojan’s instruction, the Rosemount High School Marching Band has won five Minnesota State Marching Band Championships, and been a Bands of America Super Regional Finalist for six consecutive years. The award-winning marching band performed in the 2014 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, and has accepted the invitation to perform in New York City at the 2017 Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Parade.

Bojan has committed himself to supporting music education throughout Minnesota and has served on the board of directors for the Minnesota Percussion Association and the Percussive Arts Society Minnesota Chapter. From 2009 to 2016, he organized one of the largest percussion festivals in the state, the MPA Day of Percussion, and was awarded the Minnesota Percussion Association ‘Instructor of the Year’ award in both 2009 and 2016.

Bojan is an alumnus of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, and holds bachelor’s degrees in music education and music performance from the University of Minnesota, and a master’s degree in composition from Pulse College in Dublin, Ireland.
