Matt Gullickson is in his second year as band director at Eastview High School (Apple Valley, MN) where he teaches marching band, concert band, jazz band and percussion ensemble. Prior to his appointment at Eastview, Gullickson served as director of bands for 5 years in Waseca, MN and led the Waseca Marching Jays.
Gullickson is a graduate of UW-Eau Claire where he earned his bachelor’s degree in music education and was a student of Richard Mark Heidl, Jeffery Crowell and Robert Baca. He was formerly the director of the Menomonie Drumline and the percussion caption head of the Chippewa Falls Marching Band. Gullickson also served on the Mankato 77 Lancers Marching Band staff as assistant director.
As a percussionist, Gullickson has performed with the Madison Scouts, Minnesota Brass Inc., Southern Minnesota’s Real Big Band, and the Minnesota Vikings Skol Line. He is an adjudicator for Minnesota Percussion Association and has performed with artists such as Raynor Carroll, Steven Schick, and Lewis Nash.
