Q: What skills or experience do I need to have?

A: None! Though the more you have, the better. Our goal is to make our members better players and performers, regardless of their skill level, whether you're just starting in the marching activity, or have several years of experience. Everyone will be assigned parts and given work to challenge their skill set.

Q: I'm in my school's marching program. Can I still participate?

A: Yes! While we do have certain expectations for rehearsals and performances, we will absolutely work around your school's schedule, whether it's a summer or fall program. The rehearsal schedule is just one day a week, and we have parade opportunities all through the summer, so you'll definitely have plenty of chances to participate.

Q: Is there an age minimum or maximum?

A: We are open to anyone who wants to do it. It might be difficult for anyone under 13, but you're welcome to try. Conversely, if you're aged out of drum corps and are just looking for a minimal commitment to drum or spin and entertain crowds, come check it out!

Q: How long is the commitment if I join? What if I have to join late or be done early?

A: That's the great thing about this group - it's as long as you want it to be. We have parades all through the summer, even into September, and you participate in as many rehearsals and parades as you are able to. Of course the more you attend, the more opportunities you'll have to perform and build your skills! And you can audition at any time, whether it's at the start of the season in spring, or in July - we will always give everyone a chance who wants to do it.

Q: Where and when are rehearsals?

A: All rehearsals will take place on Wednesday evenings at Champlin Park High School. More information will be emailed to anyone who signs up on the mailing list.

Q: Are we responsible for getting to the parades?

A: RCR provides transportation in vans to all parades - unless otherwise specified, we will meet at Champlin Park before heading to the parade. Arrangements can potentially be made to pick up members on the way, within reason.

Q: Does it cost anything?

A: Yes - but it's only $350, and that covers your uniform and transportation costs. There are no other added fees, and it's the same whenever you join, so jump on it early and get real bang for your buck!

Q: I'm interested in booking this group. How do I go about it?

A: Please email beau@rivercityrhythm.org
