Bojan Hoover
BOJAN HOOVER is an active music educator, freelance musician, and composer. Bojan currently teaches 5th grade beginning band in Independent School District #196 (Apple-Valley, Eagan, Rosemount, MN) and serves as an adjunct music instructor at Inver Hills Community College (Inver Grove Heights, MN). Previous to his current appointment, Bojan taught band at Rosemount High School in Rosemount, MN for eleven years. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Bojan has served multiple roles with River City Rhythm since its inception in 2010, including instructor, designer, corps director, and executive director from 2019-2023.
Bojan has committed himself to supporting music education throughout Minnesota and has served on the board of directors for the Minnesota Percussion Association and the Percussive Arts Society Minnesota Chapter. From 2009 to 2016, he organized the MPA Day of Percussion, and was awarded the Minnesota Percussion Association ‘Instructor of the Year’ award in both 2009 and 2016. In 2024, Bojan was inducted into the Minnesota Percussion Association Hall of Fame.
Bojan holds bachelor’s degrees in music education and music performance from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree in composition from Pulse College in Dublin, Ireland, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Learning with a
concentration in music education from the University of St. Thomas.
